shane's inspiration - building common ground

Landscape Structures is pleased to partner with Shane's Inspiration toward a common goal of promoting play for children of all abilities. Together, we've created nearly 50 Universally Accessible Playgrounds including the first in Mexico and Ecuador. Plus, we're excited to have collaborated with Shane's Inspiration on playground projects for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, and 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. Shane's Inspiration has taken accessible playgrounds to a whole new level, not only helping communities build these beautiful play environments from conception to completion, but also ensuring that they are utilized through inclusive play programming.
Shane's Inspiration was co-founded in 1998 by Catherine Curry Williams and Scott Williams in memory of their son, Shane Alexander. The organization has evolved into a widely recognized, international non-profit creating Universally Accessible Playgrounds and educational programming that integrates children of all abilities socially, physically and emotionally, fostering acceptance, friendship and understanding. Shane's full spectrum service programs work in partnership with municipalities, community groups and families to ensure the successful fruition of universally accessible playground projects. The organization is the only nonprofit implementing full curriculum for ability awareness educational programming that works in tandem with inclusive playgrounds, creating a powerful global inclusionary awareness legacy, which transforms the lives of thousands of children each year.
